Autumn is just around the corner, which means back to school and
back to work. It also means the Hudson Valley’s most beautiful season
will soon be upon us. On those cool, gray weekend mornings, if you
have a deep desire for a good book, a smile, and some friendly conversation,

Local history is on the menu for Cold Spring’s author visits,
as Frank Goderre will share his latest book, “New
York State Police Troop K.” Goderre recounts the events surrounding
the celebrated troop that served the people of New York from 1917
to 1950.
Don’t miss a special event at the Stissing House in Pine Plains,
a book discussion and signing with the author of “My
Father's Secret War: A Memoir,” Lucinda Franks. Her memoir
recounts her discovery that her father was a daring spy behind
enemy lines in World War II.
If you are in the mood for some fresh, local produce and a good
book, Merritt Vol. III will be on hand at the Cold Spring Farmer’s
