A community store full of good people and books.

Well, clearly we've been all a-bustle at the Merritt Bookstore Volume II. And while we may not have been especially speedy at updating the web page, it's only because we're doing everything we can to get you every book your little thumping heart desires . . . whether it's the antics of that rascal Harry Potter, the detail-driven tales of Dan Brown, or the hard-to-find titles of local authors . . . we're checking every nook & cranny so as to soothe your every literary itch.

Yes, Scott's brave foray into Volume II is in full swing these days. While some beloved long timers have gone on to explore other places, there are some new smiles at the counter: Heather is here at the Red Hook store and Gwen will be hither & yon at either store as the winds blow. Do stop by and introduce yourself to the new folks or catch up with old Merritt friends like Jenne, Christy, and Anne (if you're lucky, you might just catch Scott breezing through). Either way, you're bound to have a good time!

And in the spirit of getting together, as we are wont to do in these days of waning light & leaves, why not join or even help us start up some reading and writing groups? Some ideas we're milling over are:

Book Circle . . . We could mix up the genres by the month or focus on one in particular.
Children's Book Circle . . . For kids of every age!!
Writing Workshop . . . Poetry or prose, it's all good stuff.
